The Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome presents one of the greatest players in American art, a man whose radical and innovative work has had such a major impact on contemporary visual culture, especially on the Italian visual culture of the 1960s. The Jim Dine Exhibition In Rome is devoted to the maestro's work who was born in Cincinnati, USA in 1935. The exhibition has been produced in close cooperation with the artist himself and will be curated by Daniela Lancioni. The exhibition showcases over 60 works dated from 1959 to 2016, and which come from public and private collections both in Europe and in the United States. A selection of works will also be coming over from the United States, which include the two famous 1960s paintings entitled 'A Black Shovel. Number 2’ (1962) and 'Long Island Landscape' (1963) from the collections of the Whitney Museum in New York. Furthermore, a selection of video interviews will allow visitors to the venue to draw closer to the figure of this great artist.
