Silvano Toti Globe Theatre In Rome

The open-air Silvano Toti Globe Theatre in Rome is located in the beautiful gardens of Villa Borghese in the centre of the Italian capital. The theatre was built in 2003 thanks to funding from the Silvano Toti Foundation and it was designed as a reproduction of the world’s most famous theatre of the Elizabethan period, the Globe Theatre in London, which was originally built in 1599. The Silvano Toti Globe has a standing area at the front of the stage that allows the audience participation, as well as both an upper and lower balcony sections which wrap around the stage. The theatre provides a full summer programme of many of Shakespeare’s best loved masterpieces (performances mostly in Italian) in a wonderful setting. The full programme is outlined below and tickets are available from 10 Euros.
